75-Inch TV Mounted on Concrete Wall in Midtown Atlanta Condo
Project Summary
A Midtown Atlanta resident in a 1010 Midtown unit needed a 75-inch LG OLED mounted on a poured concrete interior wall — a common challenge in Atlanta's high-rise condos. The building's management had specific rules about drilling depths and anchor types, which our team is fully familiar with. A tilt mount was selected to reduce glare from the floor-to-ceiling windows, and a Sonos soundbar was mounted directly below.
Installation Details
Concrete wall mounting requires a completely different approach from standard drywall work. We used a Hilti rotary hammer drill with SDS-Plus concrete bits to bore precise holes at the correct depth — not too deep (which risks hitting rebar or conduit) and not too shallow (which won't hold). The tilt mount was secured using four 3/8-inch concrete wedge anchors rated for 200+ lbs each, providing massive redundancy for the 75-inch panel. The Sonos soundbar was mounted 4 inches below the TV using a dedicated sound bar bracket anchored into the same concrete wall.
Professional Techniques Used
A rebar detector was used before drilling to locate and avoid any embedded reinforcement steel within the concrete wall. Concrete wedge anchors were torqued to manufacturer specifications using a calibrated torque wrench. Vibration-dampening rubber washers were placed between the mount and the wall to prevent micro-movements over time. All cables were routed through a surface-mounted paintable raceway color-matched to the wall, as in-wall routing is not possible with solid concrete construction.

The tilt function eliminates the persistent glare from the south-facing windows that made the previous stand-mounted setup unwatchable during daytime. The color-matched cable raceway is virtually invisible from viewing distance, and the industrial-strength concrete anchors mean this TV isn't going anywhere — critical in a 20th-floor condo.
